How to make a fake tweet

Tweetsim's fake tweet maker turns a few fields into a PNG that looks like a post on X. It takes about a minute:

  1. Write the post. Type the tweet text in the editor. Line breaks show up as you type them, @mentions, #hashtags and links turn blue the way they do on X, and there is no character limit.
  2. Set the profile. Enter a display name and an @handle, upload a profile photo, and choose no badge, a blue check or a gold check.
  3. Add an image and a date. Attach one image to the post if you want one, then pick the post date and time shown under the tweet.
  4. Set the numbers. Fill in replies, reposts, likes and views. Large numbers are shortened the way X shows them, so 12,400 likes reads as 12.4K.
  5. Export the PNG. Choose Light, Dim or Dark, then select Export PNG. The image is built in your browser at 3× resolution and downloads as tweet.png. On supported phones you can also use the share button to send it straight to an app.

A fake tweet generator for X and Twitter posts

Every part of the post is editable: the name, the handle, the verification badge, the text, the date, the image and all four engagement counts. The preview updates as you type, so what you see is what you export. The three themes match X's Light, Dim and Dark modes, which makes it easy to fit a fake Twitter post into a slide, a document or a design that already uses one of them.

People use it to draft a post before publishing it, to show a client how an announcement could look, to illustrate a story or a lesson with a fictional tweet, and to make memes. Because nothing is sent to X, you can try as many versions as you like.

Make a fake tweet with an image

Attach a photo, a screenshot or a meme to the post and it appears in the preview with the rounded corners X uses. Add a profile photo as well and the whole post looks complete. Images stay in your browser while you work.

Fake tweets with replies, blocked screens and real posts

The home page makes one post. Tweetsim has separate tools for the other screenshots people look for:

Use fake tweets responsibly

A fake tweet is an illustration. Label it as a mockup when you share it, don't present it as something a real person posted, and only use photos you have permission to use. Making a post look like it came from someone else in order to mislead people can break X's rules and the law.

Fake tweet maker FAQ

Is Tweetsim's fake tweet maker free?

Yes. The fake tweet generator is free to use with ads. You can make and download as many tweet images as you want, and there is no watermark on the PNG.

Do I need an account or an X login?

No. Nothing connects to your X or Twitter account, and nothing is posted anywhere. You fill in the fields and download an image.

Where are my images processed?

Profile photos, attached images and the finished PNG are handled in your browser. Refreshing the page clears your edits, so export before you leave.

Can I make a fake tweet with an image?

Yes. Upload one image to attach it to the post, and a separate image for the profile photo. Both appear in the preview and in the exported PNG.

Can I make a fake tweet with replies?

The home page makes a single post. To show a post with replies underneath, use the reply chain generator, which stacks an original post and up to six replies into one image.

What size is the exported image?

The PNG is exported at 3× the on-screen size, so it stays sharp in slides, documents and social posts.

Is it X or Twitter?

Both. The preview follows the current X post design, and people still search for it as a fake tweet maker or fake Twitter post generator. The result is the same image.
